Market Intelligence

To be candid, other than the names of companies, you'll find much of this section incomplete. The reasons for now are severalfold:

1. the industry is growing so fast that I discover a new company every day;
2. the entries that I had originally were discovered by some of their domain owners and I got nastygrams telling me to remove the content, and;
3. it takes a lot of work keeping up with all the goings-on in other areas of this site.

I figure that at the very least the list will help you understand the evolution of this industry, and encourage you to return to our site to see what else we might have added.

ASP - Application Service Providers

These are players that do it all for you, including the design, the campaign support, etc. The ironic and funny thing about a lot of these players is that SO MANY of them have GLARING errors on their websites and they probably don't even have a clue!

If you are going to advertise yourself as a company that does it all, if you are going to present yourself as an expert solution provider, if you are going to show the world how it should be done -- at least start with doing it right in your own backyard. Right?

Look, we don't claim to be total experts. We do the best we can. At the same time, if someone is going to charge you upwards of $10,000 to create a custom landing page service for you... they better darn well make sure everything they do is 100%!

We're here to show you what everyone else is doing, and let you make up your mind from there. It's your money -- you go ahead and spend it the way you think is best.

Then, come see us! At least this way, we won't have to do all the educating. You'll have learned your lessons already.

3Marketeers.com

These folks are interesting. If you click around, there are probably a handful of different URLS all connected and redirecting here. They appear to be a Full service marketing agency, but there are also ties to a software company.

Their product is advertised as the Bullseye system. The graphics and whatnot seem to target the same market as a number of other companies, although I'm not sure if they are simply resellers or if they developed a proprietary technology.

Read about it here:

Accureply.com

The main thing that cracks me up about this company is that they advertise a competency in delivering PURLS. Okay, great! But try clicking on the links!!! They GO NOWHERE! The page that is called up is to a dead link. What the heck???

C'mon people. I mean, I know we're not perfect, but for crying out loud...

From their webpage: Pricing is set on a case-by-case basis.

Cierant.com

Well, I'm not exactly sure if they sell software. It seems like they might, but it's unclear. They offer a wide variety of solutions including design work and all that. I filled out the form, and all I got was a page that said "okay... thanks!"

What the heck is up with that? I'm supposed to be rewarded for giving you my information! Instead, I get "the hand"... i.e.: someone will get back to you.

Sheesh that's annoying! Just another example of another company that put up a web page saying they do PURLS. Blah blah blah. All talk. No action.

From the Cierant.com website:

CustomerParadigm.com

This is the ONLY company that I found that offers both ASP and Licensed solutions. They're not a marketing company per se, but rather a programming company. Okay. Again... makes better sense for most people because most marketing departments are lacking in IT resources, and rich in marketing theory. You tell them what you need... they build it. Good!

If I had the money, I probably would have bought their software. They advertise a $1500 pricetag for a single domain, which seems a bit steep for a newcomer to this technology. If it doesn't work, $1500 is kind of difficult to explain to my boss. But, it seems like their ASP solution is a lot less risky and a decent place to start.

They also advertise A LOT on Google. My guess is upwards of $100-$150 per day. So, that might also explain their high price tag. Then again, they are programmers, and maybe they found a way to hack the Google system... not likely tho'!

EZ Smart Page

So it looks like the rest of the world is catching up with the rest of us. This product was just released, beating us by a hair ... but they're still in beta testing.

http://www.EzSmartPage.com

This is not QUITE the same as our technology, but rather, it is a utility for selecting landing pages and presenting them preferentially depending on defined conversion, click and other metrics. Seems kinda cool!

HotBanana.com

This company is interesting because they offer a suite of solutions at a subscription price of about $350.00 per month: but this seems to get you a lot of things. Along with a landing page component, they also include some search engine optimization, press release submission, CRM, content management, and a few other bells and whistles to boot.

Worth keeping an eye on.

This is a much more complex and complete solution than just a PURL. It's more like a Salesforce-esque type of solution that enables you to track your telemarketing leads and other direct marketing initiatives. Get more info here:

Liveball - from IonInteractive.com

ION Interactive released a new piece of software which is "Software as a Service". They're calling it SaaS. The rest of us call it ASP - or application service provider, or Subscription service or whatever.

Like we need another darn acronymn to deal with.

Aside from that, I find these folks to be at least some of the hardest working. If you visit their website, they provide all kinds of how-tos, research, whitepapers, and case studies. You get a lot of their stuff for free and without registration, which is really encouraging.

Check them out! Their blog is really cool, and the video they offer on best practices is also quite informative.

I have it all showcased in the "Best Practices" section of this site, too.

Marqui

I don't know how they can say that they are the only tool that integrates with Google's website optimizer... I mean, Google's tools are intended for EVERYONE to use, and they make it EASY to integrate into just about anything -- the 8000 lb gorillas that they are, are virtually ubiquitous.

Plug in a coupla snippets of Google Javascript and you should be good to go. You can do that with our tools, too! Any of landing page template that you create with our software will accomodate the Javascript - or any kind of script/code that you want to run.

But, I'll say this much, this company IS the first to proactively PROMOTE integration with Google. Ah, yes. I'm probably Naïve; we all live in a world that is all about firsts.

Realstream by MarketwithInk.com

This is an interesting one because it seems like they have a slightly different spin on the overall solution: a total marketing portal - of which purls are a component.

Again, another ASP.

Not knowing how robust their solution is, I would be skeptical to compare something like this against other solutions that integrate with your SFA tools like Salesforce and so on. But, if you don't have a CRM, them perhaps this is a good starting point.

Saepio.com

I can only say that it LOOKS like they offer the solution. It is in their documentation, but I have yet to try out their demo.

http://www.saepio.com/resources/democenter.php

Sahajanand Technologies Pvt. Ltd

This company ADVERTISES purl technology correctly, but if you try to find their software or a way to contact them to find out more information, you end up in a circular reference to where you originally started.

Maybe they have a product... maybe they don't. Right now, I don't see anything.

I suspect they will be one of many up-and-coming contract coding companies that will be competing directly with our solution. It looks like this is the case right now: they list offices in Gathersberg MD, but their domain is registered to a company in India through a WHOIS lookup.

Sahinfo.com

Company named Sahajanand InfoTech that just started selling a utlity they call ClickableInk. The website was still being developed when I visited it, but visibly making progress on it, too.

Scope1.com

Well, they give you a pretty decent demo of a solution that was developed for a couple of vertical markets. But the problem here is - again - making me work to use their services. How much? What kind of results can I expect to experience? Tell me more.

Licensed Software

Well, if you're not a hosted solution, then you are licensed. These are software providers that let you buy your own and host the product on your servers.

There is some grey area in this category because some software is really intended to help MANAGE the digital assets, rather than help to create AND manage them. In other instances, the tools are intended to help optimize the digital assets.

In some regards, a real winning solution would be to buy up a several of the solutions listed on this page, integrate them all together into a monster kick-butt app.

CustomerParadigm.com

This software currently retails for upwards of $1500.00 a license per domain.

DMXReady.com

Admittedly, this is NOT exactly a personalized URL creation tool. Rather, they offer a landing page management tool -- in other words, a central repository of webpages that act as sell sheets. Why would a webmaster want this? It would be a benefit to an agency that manages 100's of landing pages for clients. Or, maybe you are someone that sells 100's of items on Clickbank or Ebay. This gives you a mechanism to follow through and edit some of the pages.

Of course, Dynamic URLS already delivers this kind of functionality, and then some, through the use of various templates and campaigns. So, a landing page will receive a visitor by name, and customize the experience for them into something more meaningful.

Dynamic URLS

Yours truly. Here we offer a licensed solution for $249.00.
